The spirits talk to Yun. Aila uses spirits to track things down. Yuber pretty much comes from Hell where demons and such come from. True Runes can keep spirits...Jimba dies...then somehow he vanishes. Where do you think the spirits of Luc and Sarah went to? You actually see those "spirits". Chris talks to Jimba's and Yun's spirits in the True Water Rune. It's safe to say there is a spiritual world of Heaven and Hell.

Yeah, Greek mythology was a bit different. It is true that they believed that people who die go to Hades, world of the dead. It might be fitting for Suikoden world, but then again, there was no word about afterlife in any Suikoden game. No churches, religions, gods or afterlife was ever mentioned. I think only a creators of Suikoden world could answer this question...
