The bonus in S3 is not a dead SoD getting revived, it's Luc's point of view after you beat the game.

Most people seem to think that the bonus in S2 was someone (Nanami) getting revived, but she never dies in the first place, if you make the right decisions.

This is probably why people tend to think that the bonus in all the Suikodens is someone being revived, but it's really not.

If it's an option, then how is it required? By the way, the ending with all 108 Stars of Destiny is always the official ending.
