Suikoden 1 card artwork

Postby bluemask » Wed Apr 23, 2014 11:04 am

While I'm not particularly interested in the physical card, I'm curious if anyone has a link to images / artwork of the Suikoden 1 cards? I'm kinda curious to see how they are drawn in a more proportionally correct rendition. I was totally stunned when I saw how Milia, Mina, Lotte, Vincent (oh so manly!), Alen and Grenseal were drawn. So any luck?

Oooh the Legacy of Suikoden website still exists? I think I had an account on their forum, something like ten years ago perhaps.

THeir designs are interesting, they are more like a personal interpretation of the characters by an artist. Such things make me wish I could draw so I would try something similar. THe design of some of my favs, such as Rina and Valeria, is very different from what we are used to see, I don't dislike it but it's kind of surprising. I love Tengaar's design, though.

Lorelai is a total success!

Wow! Just what I was looking for. Thank you so much! I love every bit of them.

@Bruce - I agree. It's like seeing them in a different perspective. Which is kind of refreshing.

Double post, sorry!

I think I have just seen Gremio's artwork if he appeared in S4 haha. It seems to be Junko Kawano's S4 style. Simply loveable.

Between us girls, if Varkas looked like this in the game, I might have kept him tied up a bit longer:
