A mechanical android, Yod is the creation of Balsam, powered by a unit Balsam created. Although artificial, Yod has his own feelings just like a normal person. He is not found too far from his master’s side, and helps him in all his endeavors.

When the Hero asks Balsam to create an elevator, Balsam needs five years to create a unit to power it. When the Hero states that would take too long, Balsam offers to remove Yod’s, but the Hero again protests, and Yod mentions a pump given to the Porpros-kin, that would have a unit inside. The Hero brings the unit back, and the elevator is installed.

While the elevator was being installed, Yod touched the Chronicle and became a Starbearer, surprising even Balsam.

Yod assists Balsam in reactivating Zayin, referring to the android as “precursor.” After the war ends, Yod tries to get Balsam to upgrade his appearance so he can look as “cool” as Zayin, but Balsam refuses. - Matt620
