Jale’s mother, Selen was usually never found in Citro Village, working as a bodyguard. Once she learns that her son was working with the Company, she stopped by to visit him. She accepted his offer of a duel, and soundly thrashed him, remarking that he was improving, and that she had to get serious that time. He tells her that he will win the next time, and Selen is eager to see that come true. Jale does defeat his mother, and then asks Selen to help out with the company. Selen replies that she was waiting for him to ask that, and Jale replies that he wanted to ask her as a warrior, not as her child.

Selen is known as “the Storm” among the others of Citro, known so because she could instill fear in practically anyone who met her. Even the Hero, who was unafraid of Rajim or Sisuca, would shake in his boots when Selen was doing the disciplining. Selen remarks that she was able to go out and seek work because Jale had the Hero, Marica, Sisuca, and Liu to help him grow up and keep him on the right path, and she knew Jale would turn out well with all of them around.

When Selen learns of the mark of the stars, she does not contest Jale’s victory, as he merely used a technique she didn’t know, and considers it unsportsmanlike to complain about a loss.

Selen continues on with the Company after the One King falls, staying alongside her son and watching him grow up. They still train together. - Matt620
