A Scribe from the Noslaw Woods, Mun-Tsang shared Liu’s belief that the Scribes were doing no good isolating themselves from the other cultures in Noslaw Woods. She also advocated moving against the Order. When the Scribes refused to follow her, however, she tried to steal the Tautau Council to use it herself. She failed, and was exiled from the woods, her blue tattoos changed to red to symbolize her crimes.

Mun-Tsang wandered alone until she heard that Liu-Shen had become the Elder, and served as tactician for the Hero’s company, warring against the Order. She asked to meet with him. She questioned Liu about the difference between the two of them, as he became the Elder and she was exiled. Luo-Tao comes to Liu’s defense, stating that Liu, even before becoming Elder, had relationships and was close to many people, while Mun-Tsang always walked alone. This fundamental difference was the reason why Liu was chosen. Mun-Tsang departs in fury.

Liu speculates that, if Mun-Tsang were to understand this, she could be an asset to the company. After hearing that Liu used the Tautau Council’s power at Fort Arc, she goes there, where she runs into Liu again. Although there was a tactical need to suppress the dust creatures created by the Chronicle of Boundless Amber, Liu did not use the Chronicle for that reason, but he used it to save Sophia’s life. Mun-Tsang finally understands, and joins the Hero’s army
