The Mage Emperor of Janam, Danash is the ruler of the lands of Janam, the only country powerful enough to actively resist the Order’s army.

Danash prefers to let his allies compete amongst themselves, so that none of them would consider joining together to overthrow him. He does this with his three wives, and attempts to do this with Chrodechild’s Blades of Night’s Veil and the Hero’s Company, but the Hero does not fall for this, and Chrodechild catches her own error.

After the fall of Ladzaa Fortress to a flood, Danash wants Chrodechild, whose brigade was able to see through the Order’s plot and escaped in tact, to accept responsibility for her loss, and become his Fourth Empress Consort, giving the Mage Lord control over the deployment of the Blades. However, the Hero and Asad rescue her, and Danash rides to stop them. His forces are defeated, and the Danash wonders why the Hero doesn’t simply kill him and take the Magedom for his own. The Hero, however, doesn’t want the Magedom, and breaks ties with Danash.

Danash returns to the Magedom, where his forces slowly recover. The Magedom soon issues a decree that the Hero’s company is to be treated as a neutral party rather then an enemy, and sends a missive that the Order intends to attack the Magedom, and asks for the Company’s assistance. However, the Order’s forces pull back, and the Magedom is caught in the fusion of the 10th world. Danash disappears with the Magedom. - Matt620
