A dedicated fighter, Gretchen comes from the mountains originally. She spent a long time alone there perfecting her swordsmanship before coming to Razril, believing herself the best there is at her art.

She wished to join Lazlo to fight against the Kooluk, and got her chance to be recruited out of Razril, and was one of the three personal bodyguards of Lazlo, along with Helga and Millay. She soon realized she was not as good as she thought she was, but this only spurred her to advance in her art even more.

After the war, she began teaching sword technique at the Marine Academy in Razril. After some time there, she was recruited by King Lino en Kuldes to help Kyril's expedition into Kooluk, with whom she stayed until Kooluk dissolved and the Evil Eye was destroyed. - Reo, KoRnholio
