The leader of a gang of treasure-hunters, Nofret came to the current world from the desert world. She leads her crew into digging up old ruins and selling the treasures found within. She finds the ruins of El-Qaral, and starts to dig, only for the Hero to come across her. He claims that there are many people, including royalty, who used to live there, and they wouldn’t appreciate being plundered. Nofret tells the Hero to back up his claims by bringing them, and the Hero agrees, bringing both Prince Shams and Princess Manaril. The two royals, however, side with Nofret, and tell her to dig up the ruins. The people of the Magedom were gone, and it would be better that their trinkets be used to help the living.
Nofret returns to digging, contracting the Hero to help her bring in a haul. When the work is complete, she shows the goods to Shams and Manaril, who are overjoyed by finding some of their old relics, which she gives them as payment for the work the Company did for digging. The Hero soon shows Nofret his Chronicle, and she starts to understand what happened to her world, and she joins his Company.
Nofret is very realistic about her work, and even considers herself a “crook.” She acknowledges how people could feel about her plundering, but she has the mouths of her workers to feed. She believes that artifacts have no value, sentimental or financial, while buried.
Digging is much of Nofret’s life, and, once the Rarohenga monsters disappear, she takes her team and digs up the site there. Balsam, though, is the only one who purchases the equipment. - Matt620
